Badly Decomposed Body Found Near Westlake Park

Denfield Bowen

Just before five o’clock today a decomposing body was found near at mile eight on the George Price Highway. Our crew is still on the scene but we can say that a family’s worst fear has been confirmed as the body believed to be that of Denfield ‘LL’ Bowen was discovered on a feeder road near Homeland Memorial Park.  Bowen, a stevedore by profession, was also an affiliate of the George Street gang and had been reported missing by his common-law wife Claudine Dawson since April thirtieth. The discovery also included the red pickup truck belonging to Bowen.  Family and friends initially concentrated their search efforts in the area behind Fabers Road, but it has been three weeks since and they had apparently given up hope on finding the father of two alive. Bowen’s disappearance came on the heels of the murder of another George Street affiliate, Mark Medina, on April twenty-sixth.  In the wake of Bowen’s sudden departure rumors were abound that it may have been the result of infighting within the gang.  While that cannot be confirmed, Dawson in an appeal to the public on May fifth, simply asked that the whereabouts of his body be disclosed to the family so he can be laid to rest in Gales Point Village.
