DJ Says Police Do Not Want to Arrest Minister’s Nephew

Edison Usher

On April eleventh, a man identified as Shadir Marin allegedly pulled a gun on another man, Edison Usher, in front of witnesses at a fund-raising event in Belize City. The complainant and two witnesses have made statements and have positively identified Marin in front of Police. In virtually any circumstance that is an offence called aggravated assault. So why hasn’t Marin been charged by the Police, more than five weeks after the incident and complaint? Could it be because Marin is highly connected and is the nephew of Minister Manuel Heredia? That’s what the complainant alleges, even as he continues to try to get Police to make an arrest.

Edison Usher, Claims Police Negligence

“The last meeting I had with the police I believe was on April 23 somewhere around there where I was sitting with three high ranking officers, because I was inquiring about my case wanting to know what the progress is, if anything is being done, if this guy has been detained, if a warrant has been issued, stuff like that you know. Pretty much in that meeting with the officials because they have been getting calls back and forth from different organizations, from different angles, pretty much the meeting was to ask us to ease off from the telephone calls because I guess they were getting annoyed so to speak. About a week later my attorney had texted the Minister of Police Mr Saldivar, he texted back two or three days later reassuring that arrest orders had been handed out to apprehend Mr. Marin for this incident. That is about two weeks now, still back and forth, no arrest has been made.

Mike Rudon

“The police has said that they have not proceeded further on the case at this point, they have not investigated because Mr. Marin in turn is making allegations against you that you are trying to extort money from him…”

Edison Usher

“If you are saying I am soliciting money from you or am trying to not sure if bribery is the right word in this matter. Then bring a case to me, that is not even here or there when Mr. Marin is pointing his gun in my face saying move out of the effin way just for asking him not to run over my speaker wires.”

Mike Rudon

“And just to clarify, you and your two witnesses have ID him in the ID parade and have given statement to that effect?”

Edison Usher

“Positively, we all gave statements so far because I have other witnesses who are willing to come forth pending a court hearing. If I have neighbour and I say I call the police station and say I see them selling drugs in that house. The police are going to go over there, they are going to kick down your fence they are going to kick down your door and if your dog try to attack they going to shoot your dog no questions asked. If there is a bullet on the ground right now and three of us in this vicinity, all of us going to the station until somebody claim it. So after three witnesses positively ID-ing someone that created a crime to this magnitude there is still no arrest. That makes you think you have to wonder what is going on in the Police Department.”

Usher claims that he was told officially that Police have listed Marin as a wanted man and are actively searching for him. Strangely, none of the Police sources we spoke to know anything about that alleged manhunt and neither could we get a comment from the police.

The families of Ali and the forty thieves are exempt.

Laws and criminal arrests are for the common people.

Hey nothing like going to a fund raiser and have some gun play to up the game.
