Alpuche Out on $40,000 Bail

Just before five this evening Efrain Alpuche managed to secure his bail, and spoke to the media as he exited the Police Station. He maintains his innocence and says he doesn’t understand how anybody could prove that he had anything to do with any burning of fields.

Efrain Alpuche, Charged for Arson

“Well it’s good to be out after forty-eight hours, I really can’t say anything at this moment I don’t want to take any innuendos or what have you but it’s good to be out. I don’t know what IT ISA about I didn’t plead guilty. I met bail first and Mr. Vasquez is making bail as we speak. I am innocent and until they prove me guilty and there is no way they can rove me guilty. I didn’t set the cane field on fire but if I knew that night we would have gotten all this excitement, then I should have. I hope I don’t get myself into trouble, I would say it is political seeing the amount of man power that was placed into this. It is amazing when a multinational calls and get all of this, we would have love to have this assistance eight months ago when we were look for Don Ramon Cervantes, have we had this cooperation I believe we would have him earlier but it is what it is. It wasn’t too bad staying in the station but it wasn’t exactly a five star suite but the guys were okay and quite friendly. It could have been worse.”

Alpuche and Vasquez are to report back to Court on June second. Both men must also report to the Orange Walk Police Station every week until the matter is settled.
