ITVET Hosts Annual Open Day

The Belize City ITVET will be hosting its annual Open Day on Thursday. It’s an opportunity for students to show the skills they’ve acquired through displays of goods and services. While there isn’t an entrance fee, the public is invited to come out and support the students. Manager of the ITVET says that this year won’t disappoint:

Kenroy Ellis, Manager, ITVET

“Tomorrow we will feature several displays by our trainees, several projects that they have been working on over the past couple months and we will also be having several raffles throughout the day. Some of these raffles will be from donations from our good friends from ITVET and we will also be featuring prizes that are directly related to the competencies and the modules that students have been doing over the past few months.”

Andrea Polanco

“Talk to us about some of the things that will be on display tomorrow? What are some of the projects that the students are working on?”

Kenroy Ellis

“We have our food preparation team and we will be having our restaurant setting up tomorrow and serving a very nice lunch, The Hibiscus, which is the name of the dining room and will be serving food tomorrow at a very reasonable cost. We will have our Cosmetology program and you can come and get your manicure, pedicure and facials done. We have our electrical program that will be displaying the skills they have learnt in electrical. We will also have Automotive and the Front Office that is well suited for hotels so the students from that program will be displaying their skills in the front office area.”

As a special for Thursday’s Open Day, the ITVET will be waiving the application fee for anyone who submits an application on Thursday. And for high school students who apply during the Open Day, ITVET will waive one month’s tuition. The gates open at nine and will close off at three in the afternoon.
