Young mother plans to sue for death of newborn

Story PictureRemember the case of baby Jones, who died under tragic circumstances after a string of unfortunate errors? Well, today Andy Jones, the husband of Cenaida Reymundo, whose horrific story started when she gave birth on her own at the Punta Gorda Polyclinic without any medical aid, sent us further information on the case. In a fax, Jones outlines the continuing trials and tribulations that he and his wife have been facing since the birth and death of their newborn on May nineteenth. Back then the mother cried negligence on behalf of the hospitals. Now Jones says that his voice was not heard when they recently tried to get compensation from the Ministry of Health. Though the words were his, he thought it was better to hear from his wife, Cenaida, who gave us a phone interview from P.G. in which she says they intend to sue.

Cenaida Reymundo, Will Sue Government
“What happened when we went to the minister’s office, we asked to settle out of court. But then they said they had to wait for the next investigation to finish then I don’t know what they will do afterwards. That’s all they told us. He admitted that somebody should have been there when I had, whenever I delivered the baby, right.”

Jose Sanchez
“That’s the Minister Pablo Marin?”

Cenaida Reymundo
“Yes. And they don’t want do nothing, understand?”

Jose Sanchez
“So what do you intend to do since they don’t give you a settlement. Do you intend to take them to court?”

Cenaida Reymundo
“Yes, because they don’t want to do a settlement, we take them to court.”

Jose Sanchez
“Who will be representing you in this case?”

Cenaida Reymundo
“You know you just think about the lawsuit, you get tired thinking about it, you understand. And that’s why went to talk to the minister. I think we will do the lawsuit.”

Jose Sanchez
“And I understand Antoinette Moore will be representing you.

Cenaida Reymundo
“Yes. She will represent this she will represent this in court.”

Cenaida and her husband have not decided on the monetary figure for which they will sue the Ministry of Health and say they will do so after consultation with their lawyer Antoinette Moore.
