MoE Says Sexual Misconduct Will Not Be Tolerated

Patrick Faber

The minister of education drove home the point that the ministry will not tolerate predators within the system and that the action taken again Puc will serve as an example for any other individual who engages in illicit sexual acts against youths.

Patrick Faber, Minister of Education

“While we are not gloating about that, in fact it is unfortunate when anybody loses their employment, there is a decision that we are very proud of. That people must understand that if they are going to engage in that or any kind of practice that will harm our children, that the education system will not stand for it. And that there is…I want people in the wider system to understand that the ministry does have a mechanism to deal with this. The individual in question is within his rights to make an appeal to the Appeals Tribunal of the Commission. But as far as it is now, he has been dismissed from the teaching service and in fact his name will go on a register of offenders so that in fact he will not pop up again. That is again a very common practice…you move from one school to go to another school and maybe it is not a school, but somewhere in the government service or in the private sector where you work with those who you preyed on in the past. So we are hoping that this will be a kind of signal to those who are in the system—wherever you are hiding—that this is not something that we tolerate at all. This is not any kind of thing against the individual who is in this instance. But we want to send the signal loud and clear that there is going to be continues to be zero tolerance for the predators who believe they can prey on our students whether they be male or female, whether it is same sex or different sex, it is unacceptable.”

So by not involving the police to investigate if a crime has been committed, Puc lost his job but no charges will be filed against him? His job loss is not enough? Where is the punishment for his abuse of the student? Where is the justice for the victim?

…but beating your girlfriend, thats ok right?

Hope Faber follow his own advice and put his name on the register too. He likes to prey on people entrusted to him as well. We all remember the young lady he choked up at his house.

The only evidence that they have is messages via FaceBook, anybody can counterfeit your account, there was no physical abuse. However I do not agree about teachers being sexual predators of children, that is really wrong. RUmours are that there is another teacher that is doing the same thing in that high school but because he is not gay, and is very close to a minister, he is being ignored by the school. Let’s be real, if the law is good for the poor it should be good for the rich also.
