Two Men Still Detained for Trujillo Murder

Tonight San Pedro Police have released three of the five persons detained for the murder of taxi-man Donicio Trujillo on Sunday. Trujillo was found early that morning on the side of the road with his throat cut and stab wounds to the body. Preliminary investigations resulted in the immediate detention of five persons of interest in what Police say appears to have been murder for the purpose of robbing the well-known taxi-man. Two persons remain in custody at this time – a minor, sixteen and another man, twenty-three, while Police await the results of forensic testing on what is believed to be bloodstains on their footwear.

And in related news, three men arraigned on Monday for the murder of another San Pedro taxi-man, Jose Beltran, one week ago were brought into Belize City today and escorted to the Belize Central Prison. Twenty-three year old Luis Campos, nineteen year old Mark Arzu and eighteen year old Santos Garcia were brought in by water-taxi and will be behind bars until June thirtieth, charged with conspiracy to commit murder and murder.
