Jamel Webster

A B.D.F. soldier, who was living at Price Barracks, Ladyville, the head quarters of the B.D.F. has been charged for a burglary at his work place based on allegations that he stole a nine millimeter pistol valued at two thousand dollars. Twenty-three year old private, Jamel Webster, was today arraigned in the Belize City Magistrate Court and charged with a single count of Burglary. The alleged incident happened last week Thursday, and Webster is accused of entering the premises of the Belize Special Assignment Group, and stealing the Beretta pistol.  In court, Webster who was unrepresented, pleaded not guilty to the charge. The firearm was not found on him. The court prosecutor, Corporal Christopher Smith had no objection to bail but stringent conditions were imposed by the Chief Magistrate ordering that he must pay one thousand dollars in cash as bail and the balance of one thousand dollars in surety. Webster was also ordered to surrender his travel documents and not to leave the country without the court’s permission. He is also to report to the Ladyville Police Station twice a week. His next court date is set for August sixth, 2015.
