Police Officers Transferred

Allen Whylie

Several transfers are in the pipeline for senior officers in the Police Department, says Commissioner Allen Whylie. The transfers are part of an annual process and effective July of this year; several Commanders will be transferred across the country.  Some of the transfers are as follows: Assistant Commissioner of Police Joseph Myvette will now be at the National Crimes Investigation Branch in Belmopan, while Superintendent Andrew Ramirez will vacate Corozal and take over command at the San Ignacio Formation. Orange Walk O.C., Superintendent Dennis Arnold replaces Ramirez in Corozal. But with Ramirez taking on the top post in San Ignacio, Superintendent Dinsdale Thompson moves on Belmopan to become a Staff Officer of the Commissioner of Police. Inspector Ernel Dominguez, who is the Deputy Officer in Charge in Punta Gorda will move to the city to join the ranks at the Eastern Division and Inspector Clement Cacho goes to that southern municipality.

Allen Whylie, Commissioner of Police

“Transfers are an annual process that is normally done for career development. Our transfer policy is normally an officer works three years in a particular location, but it can be extended up to five years. And for the specialized branches it can be for longer. We always look at where we can tweak and fine-tune and where we believe that officers need to move on in order to become full and more rounded. And so yes, there are a number of transfers being planned at the senior levels in the districts.”
