Glenford Baine Sentenced to Five Years for Gun Possession

Glenford Baine Jr.

Eight months ago, on August fourth, 2014, twenty-five-year-old Belize City resident Glenford Baine Junior was seen hiding a nine millimeter pistol loaded with nine live rounds of ammunitions into a cement block in a yard. The gun, which was traced by the police department, originated from Czechoslovakia, but was found in Belize with the gang engrave “Gully Guny, S.S.G.,” Southside Gang. And today at his trial for Keeping a Firearm and Ammunition Without a Gun License, Baine Junior was found guilty of both firearm related offenses and sentenced to two five-year terms in prison by Chief Magistrate Anne Marie Smith. The jail terms are to run concurrently so he will only be serving five years imprisonment, effective today. Baine Junior has been on remand since the incident.
