“We wanted to involve basically other Belizeans who are concerned who want to do and see him on the field, especially getting the team together, one, and help to relieve some of these pressures from the team because really, at the end of the day if we have a team we don’t want them to be clouded with additional pressures than the actual game they have to face, or in terms of game preparations, you know.  So we basically organized as part of the group, I helped in terms of putting some of the elements together, putting suggestions together to legitimize the process basically.  And so we came together and agreed, tried to pull in some people who can assist, you know and try to figure out best ways in which we can make this, getting him here a possibility. Deon has proven time in and time out that he is one of our best players.  All we want is [that] our best team is on the field versus Dominican Republic.”

“So that’s all we want, we want him to be here and we want him to be treated fairly as we would want anyone to treat anyone else on the national team.  So that’s the aim.  We have come up with the figure and he has agreed to three hundred dollars a week for ten weeks.  He has agreed to that so we are going to give him weekly just to show accountability and forward the process.  The account number is Atlantic Bank account number 211569202.  We also have a Facebook page that we plan to put updates on there just to keep track of the accountability when and how much money we have collected and how much money we have issued out to Deon.”

If you are interested in participating in the initiative you can make your cash contribution to Atlantic Bank account number two-one-one-five-six-nine-two-zero-two.
