Darrington Lauriano Junior Sentenced to 16 Years in Prison

Darrington Lauriano Jr.

Twenty-two-year-old Darrington Lauriano Jr. has been sentenced to sixteen years in prison after being busted with a nine millimeter pistol loaded with eight live rounds of ammunition.  During the swoop, Lauriano was also found in possession of a hundred and ninety-six grams of cannabis that was concealed among his clothing inside a suitcase.  The search was conducted on March seventeenth, 2014 as he stood in the parking lot of the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital adjacent to the Accident and Emergency wing.  The resident of Holy Emmanuel Street had just been discharged from the hospital after being shot in the shoulder in San Pedro Town a few days earlier.  This morning, Lauriano was found guilty of three counts in the courtroom of Magistrate Herbert Panton and was given a harsh penalty.  He is to serve two consecutive five-year sentences for firearm and ammunition possession, plus an additional three years for drug trafficking, as well as being fined ten thousand dollars for the previous offence.
