Mayor Bradley Confident of Victory in Caribbean Shores

Darrell Bradley

And since Mayor Darrell Bradley conveniently attended the same event, we asked him for an update on his run to convention. He admitted that it’s hectic balancing City Hall and Caribbean Shores, but is still confident that when the votes are counted he’ll be sitting in a different seat.

Darrell Bradley, Belize City Mayor

“It’s very difficult to kinda juggle that and want to be effective as mayor coming out of an election and then going into the campaign. But we are on the streets everyday; the reception has been very good. We have several teams who are going out; I myself am going out on a daily basis.  We are organizing ourselves, we are refining our pledge lists coming out of municipal elections and we are engaging people on the ground. I think that a lot of resources will come against us, but I think that this election—in terms of the convention fro Caribbean Shores, which has been set for June seventh—will be won by engaging residents. One of the things that was said to me in the launch recently is that I think people expect more from a leader. You expect a leader who will be a person of character, who will bring ideas and who would be aggressive. And it is people who exercise their votes. So we are doing very well. I am pleased with what we are doing so far and on the convention day then we will know what the result is.”

That convention is set for June seventh.
