Woman unhappy with the result of free home repairs

Story PictureThe Southside Poverty Alleviation Project kicked off with a bang back in 2007 with infrastructural improvements proposed for the Collet, Port Loyola, and Lake Independence areas. This includes: the paving and upgrading of roads and sidewalks, improved drainage, and the filling of residential lots. And the current phase of the project, which involves home repairs and small expansions seemed to be doing well – that is until one lady whose small house was repaired over the past year, called the media. Madlene Chavez who lives on Reggae Street, told us she is far from pleased with the work done to her house.

Madlene Chavez, Homeowner
“Dehn start work, well everything mi di go good, but when I come from work deh have materials out there and wen ah look dehn come and somebody tell deh ker some ah di materials dah wah different house, ker some ah di dis yah house, I don’t know, because ah noh know who dah deh supervisor. “So what you observe after that?”
