Jason “Soup” Williams Shot Again

Jason “Soup” Williams

One hour and a half after the shooting of Willoughby, shots rang out once again…this time on Fairweather Street on South Side Belize City. Just after nine p.m., an attempt was made on the life of notorious street figure thirty-six year old Jason Williams, just a stone’s throw away from where he lives on Supal Street. Williams, who is out on bail, was hanging out with friends, when he was targeted. Also known as Soup, Williams who is the Head of the Supal Street Gang, was shot to the right leg and the right hand. His assailant then fled in the direction of Dolphin Street. A total six expended shells were recovered from the scene. Williams was rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he is admitted in a stable condition. Police cannot confirm if it is gang related, but are following all leads.

Supt. Hilberto Romero, O.C., CIB, Eastern Division

“Jason Williams, thirty-six years with gunshot wound to the leg and a gunshot wound to the arm. He was admitted to the K.H.M.H. in a stable condition. “Sir did the victim give police any information as to the identity of the shooter?”

Supt. Hilberto Romero

“Well he is admitted and our officers are recording statements. There is one person in custody and at the end of the investigation we will determine if anyone can be charged.”

“Sir is the shooting gang related?”

Supt. Hilberto Romero

“Well we are not sure, but we know that Jason Williams is a member of the Supal Street Gang.”

“Are you al, concerned that there may be retaliation of this?”

Supt. Hilberto Romero

“Yes we are concerned and we are talking the necessary steps again. Our patrols are out there; our teams are out there to prevent any sort of retaliation.”

“Sir has camera footage been of use to you in this case?”

Supt. Hilberto Romero

“Again our officers are there working on the grounds and I cannot say if there is any camera footage at this time.”

A sixteen year old has since been detained in connection with this shooting.
