Remembering Andy…7 years after his passing

It’s been seven years since Andy Palacio, Belize’s musical icon, passed away. Known across the world, Palacio put Belize on the map and left a rich legacy of the Garifuna culture and music. During his career, Palacio released three albums, seven E.P cassettes and a trove of music videos. While Andy departed on a career high, having been named Artist for Peace by UNESCO, along with a wealth of other accolades, we will all agree that he left us with a repertoire of music that is unrivaled. News Five has followed Andy’s career and amassed a wealth of videos with highlights of his musical career. We share with you a look back at his glory days, sharing the stage with other local personalities and clips of his videos and performance of hits like “ Gimme Punta Rock,” “Til Da Mawnin” and “Watina.”
