Omar Figueroa’s Election Day Prediction

There is an update to today’s by-election in Cayo North. Sixty-two percent of six thousand, five hundred and ninety-eight registered turned up to cast their ballots during today’s election.  That figure represents a total of four thousand, sixty-three voters.  While the reconciliation process is now ongoing, the overall attendance at the polls has been described as low.  Earlier today, we spoke to the two candidates to get their perspective on the poll. We asked U.D.P. standard bearer Omar Figueroa about the low turnout.

Mike Rudon

“Mr. Figueroa we spoke to you yesterday. Has your feeling change? You were confident of victory yesterday.”

“Not at all, not at all. It all remains the same. We got help up a little with the showers in the morning, but we are back on track.”

Mike Rudon

“Tell me your opinion of the machinery?”

Omar Figueroa

“They are out, we are out and we are bringing in the people. I mean if you follow politics in Cayo North, a lot of the voter turnout happens after midday. So right now, we are just bringing in as many as we can for the morning and then this afternoon you will see the bigger crowd start coming out.”
