Thousands still missing from Border Management Agency

And in an update to the missing monies at the Western Border Management Agency, the case file for the missing thirteen thousand plus dollars is expected to be at the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions by Wednesday morning. And while he would not grant us an on-camera interview the Agency’s General Manager, Gonzalo Rosado did speak with News Five in his office today at the Western Border. Rosado said that he waited until their consultations with an auditor provided sufficient information to report the matter to the police, more than a week after he had fired the main suspect, Julio Santos. Santos was the site manager at the Western Border and was in charge of all the deposits to the Agency’s Atlantic Bank account in San Ignacio. According to Rosado, from the time of his employment with the Agency in April of 2008, Santos had been making the deposits. But in June it was discovered that several of the cash deposits were never made. And while reports have been rampant about political interference since the discovery, Rosado told us that no politician has called his office or gotten involved in the investigation.
