Muslim Woman Has Her Day In Court

On Tuesday News Five aired an interview with a Muslim woman who related a disturbing story to us. She is a victim of domestic abuse, and had applied to the Family Court for a restraining order against her husband. The case was called on September twenty-fourth, but when she tried to enter the court she was turned back by the Police officer assigned to the magistrate. He claimed that the woman, who is Muslim, would have to remove her hijab, the headdress worn by the faithful. The woman told News Five that the Policeman verified those instructions with the Magistrate. She refused to remove her hijab, and was refused entry to the courtroom. Her case was thrown out. Well tonight there is very positive news. Following our story which aired on Tuesday, the Family Court reached out to the woman and granted her another court date on Thursday. Her matter was heard, and she was granted the restraining order. We are reliably informed that the woman was not given an apology. We are also reliably informed that she is, along with her attorney, in discussions with the court on the matter of religious discrimination.

If it was a CROSS DRESSER he/she would have had to get an apology. Shredded what is Belize coming to now!
