Belizean Entrepreneur Making News in Trinidad

Tiffany Simpson

Belizean entrepreneur Tiffany Simpson has been making the news in Trinidad and Tobago since Monday. The president of Belizean Artwork Publishing, a company out of Belize City that has been working with various artists, authors and musicians, is currently in the Caribbean promoting several products that have been released by the company over the past year. Those include the game prep for the CSEC exams as well as a mobile app production software and a “Tech It Easy” Series of Training Courses. Simpson has since appeared on several talk shows and television stations in Trinidad including an interview with CNC-Three Television with Hema Ramkissoon. News Five spoke today with Simpson via Skype from Trinidad.

“The results have been very good, it is very successful and the media has been very receptive and very instrumental in helping me to get the information out to the general public.”

Duane Moody

“Now who is it that your app is targeting and why go to Trinidad to push it?””

Tiffany Simpson

“Well my solutions, my products cater to several different markets. As you know, last year, I launched the game prep for CXC exams and it is an exam that we take here regionally both in Belize and the other CARICOM countries. So I am expanding to other markets and promoting that product to other markets along with some other solutions that I developed earlier this year. I think it was in July that I did the workshop for developing mobile apps. We had a group of young students who took part in a workshop and were able to create their own mobile apps. And also my “Tech it Easy” series of training program that teaches individuals different methods of creating solutions, tech-based solutions, games, mobile apps and Facebook applications very easily.”

Duane Moody

“I know you have a series of media rounds left to do. How has it been so far? We’ve seen a clip of one of those interviews. Has the public been receptive to what you’re bringing to the table?”

Tiffany Simpson

“Yes they have been. It is right up the alley with a number of things that they have been doing in their community. So as I’ve mentioned before, it’s been very successful and both the media and the audience that I’m targeting have been very receptive to what I am offering to the public.”

When she returns from Trinidad next Wednesday, Simpson says that Belizean Artwork Publishing will be launching the game prep for B-JAT, which is similar to testing for P.S.E. and CSEC exams, but will be specific to the students sitting the Belize Junior Achievement Test.

Congratulations to Ms. Simpson on her achievements! Her entrepreneurial spirit – especially in the info-tech field – is refreshing. We need to create more of these kinds of mobile apps that cater to our local/regional needs.
