Another Government Hilux goes Missing

We were unable to get any comment from either the Ministry of Health or the Belmopan Police today, but News Five has confirmed that another Toyota Hilux has been stolen. The vehicle, a white 2008 double cab pickup, was parked Tuesday night at the Ministry of Health compound on Independence Hill. The driver reported for duty this morning at around six thirty am and noticed that the vehicle was gone. By our unofficial count, this is the fourth government vehicle which has been stolen recently, and brazenly, while parked near government departments. We’ve established that Police believe the vehicles are being taken across the border to Guatemala, where they are easily sold. Like we said, Belmopan Police would not speak to us today, and neither would Ministry of Health C.E.O. Doctor Peter Allen. Unofficial but credible sources tell us that both vehicle keys were located at the Ministry, which means that whoever stole it managed to make another set of keys for the vehicle.

No more car washes. If you are privileged to get a government car then you wash it yourself.

    Two words: INSIDE JOB

Smart police with the appropriate warrants and tools, patience and time, can break this case, even retroactively. If I were a police investigator, I would bring the f*ckers to justice. Sitting there meekly at their post, like they didn’t do anything, don’t know anything, receiving that envelope with 5 grand on the QT. I would make it my business to go after you. And don’t be telling me you needed the money for school fees or your sick mother. Don’t want to hear any of that stuff. Everyone in Belize is taking a lick. That doesn’t mean we should all descend into the cesspool.

Yes the person you all are buying them from has the keys so he sells it to you today and come back for it tomorrow. It’s a win-win deal for him but not so much for the Belizean tax payers who will break their backs to pay for all of them! The third vehicle, the pretty gold one, that went missing didn’t go west it passed me headed north the same evening it disappeared before it made the news. No check point was looking for it up along these areas so it was a piece of cake to drive a government issued vehicle through and no one would suspect a thing!
