Honorarium Concert at B.T.L. Park
This weekend in Belize City promises to be quite eventful and fun-filled, with lots to do for the entire family. While there is the Sir Barry’s Belikin Bash and the annual Expo, there will also be a free concert at the BTL Park, where everyone who is a lover of cultural and spiritual music is invited to attend. This morning, the organizer of the event, as well as a performer, who will be taking to the stage to deliver his spiritual message in song, stopped by our office to tell us all about what’s in store for you.
Jason Neal, Organizer, Honorarium Concert for Belize
“We are doing for the very first time a concert that identifies to honor the nation of Belize that will be taking place tomorrow night at six p.m. at the B.T.L. Park.”
Isani Cayetano
“What can we expect in terms of performances taking place within the event?”
Artist
“There will be various artists performing in this concert. I personally do reggae. There will be artist that sings rap, praise and worship, Spanish and other artists from other ethnicities in Belize.”
Jason Neal
“We believe firmly that whom you don’t honor, you cannot receive anything from. Correct me if I am wrong, it is a statement that is said because most of us Belizeans are more takers than givers. So it is a concert that highlights a given force to the nation; showing love and gratitude towards Belize. You spoke of the aspect of cultural and spiritual…how we mesh the two. There will be the singing of the national anthem, we have the march up of the Belize flag, we have sister Radiance Thompson doing a song to honor the nation of Belize. You have the prayer for the nation by respective pastors. So it is a mixture of cultural and spiritual.”
Isani Cayetano
“Who are you aiming to attract to be present at this particular concert?”
Jason Neal
“That is an exclusive question and I applaud you for that sir. It is a concert and I must say it is a concert that every single Belizean should attend especially if you are demonstrating love and high rate of patriotism to Belize. We are asking politicians to be there; we are asking professionals in general to be there and the Belizean public at large. Everybody must be attended.”
