Belizean Videographers and Audio Technicians to be Employed on Film Projects

Jeff Pogue

According to ArDoMi representative, Jeff Pogue, Belizean cameramen, audio technicians and other skilled individuals will be trained and employed in the new ventures.

“What we do is we do production services. I am not a cameraman, I don’t have a bunch of cameras….it’s not what we do. I’m the guy that goes through and we look through the creative lists with the producers and the money and then we come up with a logistical plan of how to accomplish that. And the goal is to hire as many locals as possible. It works for two reasons. One, you have people who know the country and know how to get around and how to do things. Shooting in the jungle is very different than shooting somewhere else. And you got guys who have already done that. We are not trying to learn all on our own. We don’t wanna do that. We want to definitely work with as many locals as possible and then of course, the other part is we don’t want to have to fly people in. It is cost effective.”

“I think one of the things that you guys bring as a company is the wherewithal to get things done and to funnel them back here. Belize does have a lot of natural resources and human resources as well, but it needs to be packaged properly to be presented to those outside of the country who we want to come here and invest, spend and for our standpoint make productions.  The things that we have the opportunity to do now with this relationship is to attract and really be in running to have projects where a series would come here and set up shop and be here for a year. And if the series is popular, for two, three, four years and to sustain or have a business that can sustain and help us feed our families and provide for ourselves and others.”

The first project that the new partnership is seeking for Belize is a series production by Sony Studios called Mad Dogs.
