Search for Kevin Carcamo Turns Up Blood in Freetown Sibun…

There are new developments to report on tonight in a mysterious case involving the disappearance of forty-three-year-old Kevin Carcamo.  The Hattieville chairman, a linesman employed with Discoverseis, went missing on July twentieth in a densely forested area behind Freetown Sibun.  Despite a massive search and rescue effort in the days that followed, no signs of life or remains of Carcamo were discovered.  Since then, the party, including B.D.F., coastguard, police and company personnel, has been reduced considerably.  Tonight, police quite possibly have in their possession the most tangible pieces of evidence that can assist them in cracking the case.  This evening, a team from the Scenes of Crime Unit was called out to the bank of the Sibun River where they swabbed a piece of bush stick.  An independent group of men who continue the search for Carcamo happened upon a thin branch which they believe was blood-stained.  The police were subsequently notified and they immediately responded to the scene.  A test was conducted which confirmed that it was indeed human blood.  While it could not be determined if it was Carcamo’s blood, a sample from his children will be taken and a comparison will subsequently be done for confirmation.  Incidentally, a strand of hair was also discovered and will also be used for comparison.  Late this evening, News Five spoke with Victor Arana, Carcamo’s sibling.

“I understand that one of the search parties who is still looking for your brother came across a piece of stick that they believe has traces of human blood and the scenes of crime unit was called to the scene. Can you share with us if they have conclusively been able to prove that it is indeed human blood?”

“Well according to their knowledge, dehn say that dah blood from some man. The next test dah fi find fi he blood sample somewhere about dah some hospital. And if you cut your cross, dah by the means dig. Yes, but like weh I say, the stick as weh dehn say dah human blood on it. the stick look like wah nice three foot weh yo coulda whap someone with as weh dehn say the man mi tired, noh got no water. Maybe ih di sit down and somebody creep up pan ahn and whap ahn ina ih back. wah next stick deh deh to me weh look like blood splash pan it. Dehn thing deh deh; dehn done take dehn test alreadu. I can’t say it is conclusive because I noh know, but fi dehn results di say soh. Thanks to that. And thanks to dehn forensic people too because I am saying we need response dig because nobody know weh di go on back yah. If yo see the bush, the man know back yah. O noh know back yah and I come back yah fi this two weeks and I noh wah get lost no more. I been on the rivers, we had people di dive this bwai yah. But somewhere about he still deh as man noh di eat man dah Belize yet. So whosoever I am saying, my number is 600-8527. I noh got fi deal with no police business or nothing. If yo want, yo could get wah reward; yo could call me too because anything happen out yah. We dah jah peoples…dah my ma that, dah my pa that and dah my bredda that and dah my sister and bredda dehn bredda and his sisters and his brothers brother. And dah di village chairman and a villager of Hattieville still because ih still got ih residency there. and the man di work towards anything positive for Hattieville and the people dehn like that cause dehn vote fi him too. So thanks to them too again.”

As we said, the blooded sticks and hair are the first signs that can lead police to the missing chairman.
