KHMH CEO Speaks About ‘Product of Conception’

Dr. Gary Longsworth

On June thirtieth a discarded fetus was discovered under a hospital bed in the observation room in the Accident and Emergency Ward. It caused a stink, both literally and in the public arena. The Police commenced an investigation, but that apparently died in the water since the KHMH issued a very glib and ambiguous release, stating that, quote – “Our internal investigation revealed a clear link between a patient encounter and the product of conception, and, sadly, established that appropriate procedures were not followed.” Well today we finally got a change to ask KHMH CEO Gary Longsworth to break that down for us in language that we could follow. He says that is was basically a process that was not understood.

Dr. Gary Longsworth, CEO, KHMH

“The investigation is over, essentially, and there were some lapses. Some of them were explainable and some of them not so explainable, but the outcome of it is that we have issued warning letters…in a few cases final warning letters to the individuals concerned that they must do better.”

“Sir that is as ambiguous as the release that was sent out. Could you tell us if it was a patient that came in who miscarried? Could you tell us, for those who don’t understand?”

Dr. Gary Longsworth

“Sorry, I thought you understood the circumstances. It’s basically a patient who came in and was managed and released and this is just a normal…the products were the normal outcome or product of that management.”

“And it ended up in a box under the bed?”

Dr. Gary Longsworth

“However, where people didn’t do what they were supposed to do…from which department did that emanate…? Is it the people who clean, the nurses?”

Dr. Gary Longsworth

“I think what started the issue was a staff member who did not understand…a relatively recently employed member who did not understand the process that needed to be carried out and that was the start of it.”

According to Longsworth, that person who started the chain of gross negligence has received a strong warning letter, in addition to unspecified remedial action taken.

  1. Al Rich says:

What the hell, does anyone understand what Longsworth said. First of all if this was a miscarriage, nurses should have been the ones to dispose of this fetus, not the cleaning people. Where is the mother who delivered this fetus. The truth is that this hospital has not a clue what happened here. How sad, this hospital is filled with people whose only concern is the paycheck they are getting.

Things must change the people goes from day to day with no hope, having to take whatever is handed to them. fight for change people.
