Man shot 3 times outside club in Orange Walk Town

Joseph Myvette

While all eyes were turned to the Cervantes tragedy this weekend, there was also some gunfire which resulted in one man getting shot three times. The incident happened in front of the Hi Five Nightclub early Sunday morning. Police would not release the name of the person who was shot, since he is not cooperating with them and refuses to provide any information. Today, Northern Zone Commander Senior Superintendent Joseph Myvette told News Five that the man is in a critical condition, but their investigation is stalled because he refuses to work with them.

Sr. Supt. Joseph Myvette, Commander, Northern Zone

“We have also received information of a shooting that had occurred early yesterday morning on Aurora Street near a nightclub. One person received three gunshot injuries and have since, the police has made effort to try and get to the bottom of this crime, but the victim is not cooperating with the police in that regard.

“What is his condition?”

Sr. Supt. Joseph Myvette

“He is stable.”

“And a possible motive for that?”

Sr. Supt. Joseph Myvette

“At this point in time we do not know. The information gathered is that there was a fight outside and thereafter, one person received gunshot injuries and was taken to the Northern Regional Hospital.”
