“King of the Hill, it is our second time sponsoring it. It is a cycling race that is a circuit race in San Ignacio. It covers through the town and Belikin is proud to be a sponsor of this race a second time. Cycling is a part of Belize’s heritage; it is one of our favorite sports and Belikin as the beer of Belize, we are really excited about being a part and having this race.”

“Tell us about Bowen and Bowen will be providing to these cyclists as they are giving back to the race.”
Jayson Solis
“Bowen and Bowen will be providing mainly the cash prizes for the race. It is a multitude of categories. We have the elite, we have the juniors, we have the female cyclists…so it is a multitude of categories and we are providing cash prizes for all these cyclist. Last year we had eighty-nine riders for the race and we had a great turn out. So this year, we are looking forward to more riders and we had an international rider last year so it is going to be a big race again.”

“Jayson, it is just a lot of things that Bowen and Bowen and Belikin, being a part of not only education, but also sports. Tell us about this initiative and why it was necessary for your guys to jump on board with this is as a corporate citizen?”
Jayson Solis
“It is important as a company like this use your power or your corporate status to affect different things in the community—sports being one of the things that is important to the community. Whether it be cycling, whether it is basketball, whether it be football; all of these things Bowen and Bowen has been a sponsor for over the past couple of years. So it really is our responsibility to give back and help developing youth, help developing sports and helping to advance that part of society. And so Belikin, we’ve sponsored the Western Spirits, but unfortunately that team has become defunct now. So we stepped in with the King of the Hill race in San Ignacio. And so we are excited about it and we want to keep growing it and see how it goes and give back; give back anyway we could. And so this is just another part for us.”
