A stabbing in San Ignacio has left one man critically injured and another facing an attempted murder charge. According to authorities, around seven-thirty Sunday night twenty-five year old Peter August was walking near the corner of Orchard and Bishop Martin streets in Santa Elena when he was attacked by a man armed with a knife. During the melee, the victim was stabbed in the right side of his head near the temple, in his left arm, and on one of his wrists. The victim was rushed to the San Ignacio Hospital where he remains admitted to ward in a critical but stable condition. Tonight police tell News Five that the assailant was inebriated at the time of the incident. That suspect, identified only as a thirty-four year old resident of Santa Elena, has been detained and we understand that charges of attempted murder, use of deadly means of harm, and dangerous harm will be filed against him on Tuesday.
