New Pizza Franchise Opens in Belize City
Sbarro, the iconic New York pizza chain, officially opened its latest location on Phillip Goldson Highway in Belize City on Tuesday night. The new outlet, located within Publics Mini Mart, makes Sbarro’s 681st outlet worldwide.
At the opening event, one customer stated, “One word: delicious,” while another called it “amazing.” Jenniffer Corzo, CEO of Sbarro Belize, expressed her excitement: “It has been a journey, but we are happy to have a new franchise here in Belize because we want to enrich the culinary of Belize.” Corzo stated that although the restaurant sources some ingredients locally, most are imported.
Belize City Mayor Bernard Wagner welcomed Sbarro’s arrival. He stated, “We need more franchises… We have to make the incentives competitive for these franchises in terms of cost of production.”
Plans for future expansions in Placencia Village and San Pedro Town are already underway. Corzo encouraged families to try the menu, which includes pizzas, strombolis, and breadsticks, with prices ranging from $10 to $60.
Christopher Coye, Minister of State for the Ministry of Finance, said, “We have had challenges with franchises in Belize, but I am very confident that this one will work and be very successful.”
