Fatal traffic accident in Belize City claims the life of Customs Officer

A customs officer identified as Frank Robinson, en route to Belize City shortly after three o’clock this afternoon, lost his life in yet another fatal road traffic accident.  The collision between a dump truck bearing license plate number A-zero-zero-two-one-four, belonging to Imer Hernandez Development Company and a Ministry of Finance pickup which Robinson was driving, occurred along the George Price Highway in the vicinity of Fabers and Krooman roads, near the entrance to Belize City.  News Five understands that there were two other passengers inside the grey Isuzu D-Max at the time of the accident.  The driver’s side of the pickup, including the rear left passenger’s is extensively damaged.  The cause of the accident remains under investigation; however, it is believed that the vehicle may have been attempting to overtake the dump truck when the lateral collision occurred.

NOT LONG AGO I SAW A BNE PICKUP overtaking another one at the Unitedville village bump first one going to cayo. The driving insanely over took the other vehicle and walking on the roadside we’re two young guys. The Bne pickup while overtaking knock the guy shoulder with the mirror of the vehicle. And this driver never stop but keep going knowingly that he knock the guy. we kept watching him to see if he’ll stop but never did. many of this BNE VEHICLE when they come out from the company compound always drive slowly but once they reach blackman eddy going to cayo drive insanely. It’s true I see them every single day when going home.

OVER TAKING in areas that are not suitable are dangerous, like curves, like bumps and some even in plain straight areas almost fail to overtake properly.

I wish i can get a dash cam to record all this things some day. Some drivers really drive insane.
DRIVING IS NOT A RIGHT IT’S A PRIVILEGED.

Again, I’ve stressed before careful driving and sat belt enforcement. My condolences to you Blondie, Odessa and your family. The majority drives recklessly in Belize, police included. You should see how they were driving during cross country. I also mentioned about those dilapidated buses driven by political cronies on the blogs several times; the most recent comments when the prison van crashed into a Rodeo or 4Runer and when young Garnett died. I understand one had an accident today going to Ladyville because the brakes failed. Unfortunately, this will never stop because it’s only party supporters get these contracts and any type of vehicles is given permission to run, including a love interest of a certain minister’s sister who’s used the guy as a cover up so that the public wouldn’t know. However, the entire Ladyville, Los Lagos and Sandhill community knows who is really controlling that bus line. What she might not know is that her younger “boy toy” has an ambitious and smart young lady studying abroad who’s getting some of that proceeds to sustain her studies. Go on player.
