“So, yesterday the judge gave an order.  Arguments were also presented to her on behalf of a private company which is suing the Coyes claiming that they owe that company monies.  Again, the judge did not agree with the arguments put forward and said that she was going ahead, having heard all the arguments, having heard FIU, having heard everybody, she made an order to unfreeze the funds.  That private company, Internet Experts, made an urgent application to another judge in the Supreme Court because they had not been successful in front of Justice Griffith.  They made an application on the basis that some years ago they had filed a lawsuit claiming that the Coyes owed their clients and that if all the funds were allowed to be accessed by the Coyes, then when that lawsuit came to be heard it would be of no currency because the monies would have already been used.  And that was an urgent application.  It’s not a freezing order, it’s an injunction to say to the banking institutions if you are holding monies for those persons and companies who are defendants in that case, you are not to release that monies to those persons until you hear further from the courts.  That is an interim ex parte injunction, meaning it was done without informing the Coye’s or their attorneys.  It was done as an urgent application and a judge in the court…”

“Was the application successful?”

“Yes, the application was successful for an interim temporary injunction which expires next week and there will be, no doubt, applications to have it remain enforced again so there is an injunction that, although the Coyes were successful in unfreezing their accounts, they have not been able to go to the bank to withdraw the money because of a separate injunction from a private company.”
