Post mortem result says Boston village woman was not murder

Myra Miller

On Tuesday, we reported on the tragic death of a sixty-eight-year-old woman in the village of Boston.  It is believed that someone broke into her home during the Easter weekend and violently attacked her with a piece of wood.  Myra Miller, a Jamaican national, was clinging to life when she was discovered inside her home by residents.  While she did not disclose the identity of her attacker, Miller reportedly told the village chairman that she was attacked by a man.  Today, however, the autopsy results show that she died of natural causes.  News Five spoke by phone with Victor Cortez, who refuses to accept that Miller died of those causes.

“This lady was attacked ina ih house boss. I find ahn pan the ground; ih neva dead. She wasn’t dead; she was breathing and ih mi ina wah bad state. The lick ih get ina ih head neva kill ahn. Ih neva burst ih head, just fracture ih skull because dah wah rotten board they attack the lady with. Now, weh I di tell you dah wah struggle because the autopsy say ih got some burn mark on ih body. I could show you weh part di lady had wah lee piece ah iron weh ih burn pieces a stick and paper fi smoke fi kill fly ina ih house. That burn mark and I know weh part she mi di lay down boss, dah weh part got the lee iron weh mi di burn the stick far from she…dah through wah corridor. In this awkward position, me find Miss Millerina ih room boss, face down on the ground. If you faint away boss with low blood pressure, how you wah faint away and got wah lick ina the back of yo head mi bredda? Ahn? I vex and upset, but Doctor Estradabran say something concern the brain….good. he dah the professional, not me. But if he mi only coulda mi see the position of the lady weh ih mi deh face down and the sawdust off of the old stick weh dehn knock ahn ina ih head. This lady knows who do this to ahn yo know. Ih just unfortunate that ih passed away pan we boss because when my pa gone ina the house and ask ahn Miss Miller, who do yo this? Ih say the man. My pa ask ahn two times again and ih say the man. I am extremely mad mi bredda because if I just let this go like this, ih wah happen to somebody else down the road.”

You know lately Belize has been on the news too much. We need the tourist and B.T.B has to keep lyng. I hope you get answers to your questions.

  2. Been There and Done That says:

What a joke Estradaban is. So he thinks the woman is lying that she was attacked before she died. LOL
Hey, I think he was advised to keep murder out out of the news by GOB, BTB and the Police who are lost and lazy.
We need to keep more retirees moving to Belize you know. How will the sprang heads eat . . . I mean sprang.

BELIZE have brilliant people who could be sent abroad to have proper training on forensics, but again probably no money to spend on something that the country really need .what we can do from lies, deceptions, cover ups from this goverment. NO BODY HAS THE BALLS TO STAND UP AND FIGHT FOR DEMOCRACY WE REALLY NEED A MORAL REVOLUCION IN OUR BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY .GOD help us.

    LIES KLIES AND LIES,
This government is trying frantically to supress, crime statistics. Police regularily try and keep crimes out of the news to not hurt tourism and investment. The only way we find out is if News 5 covers it. This government downright lie to the people, and tell the police to cover up crimes now, to keep the rapidly escalating crime stats down.
Belize is a powder keg waiting to explode.
