Errol Andrews claims they were brutalized by cops

When they were leaving the court today several of the men were bandaged and were limping or suffering from injuries they allegedly sustained at the hands of police. Before departing in a taxi, Errol Andrews spoke to News Five about what he calls the excessive use of force used by the police on them on Sunday night.

“From Sunday from about eight, because fi we light mi deh off, officers just come and beat we up; bat we up with bat because of a shooting weh happen at we. They noh ask we, just come deal with we, broke we up…. Ker we dah station, noh want ker we dah hospital. Until we reach Belize, we goen to an inspector and the inspector make we gone dah hospital and dehn show we fi we injuries.”

“Where were you picked you up from?”

 

Errol Andrews

“Ladyville, pending nothing; just picked up because wah shooting happen and then dehn just pick we up and ker we. Dehn end up di say that they bust (caught) we with weed. How dehn wah find weed when we noh know nothing? When we deh pan di ground, we noh di see nothing; we just di get beat up. Then when we reach the station, then dehn wah produce the weed.”

“Whose house did they pick you guys up from where the weed was found?”

 

Errol Andrews

“A family member.”

 

Reporter

“So are you going to make an official report to the police?”

 

Errol Andrews

“Definitely. I know the officers who beat we.”

“How many officers were there?”

 

Errol Andrews

“Fifteen.”
