2 persons injured in early morning shooting in Ladyville

Kazia Arnold

But there was a third shooting in the Ladyville Area…this one occurred early this morning. A search by the family of Corey McKay and Karim Arnold as well as the police was launched just after eight this morning following a report of a shooting in the Bobo Hill Area of the village. From what News Five was able to gather, around six-thirty a.m., Arnold and McKay were riding on separate bicycles on a dirt road heading home when a lone gunman came up to them and fired at least six shots in their direction. Both were hit and took to bushes to evade their attacker leaving their bicycles behind. But while Arnold managed to get to a hospital, McKay was nowhere to be found and the family feared the worst. News Five spoke earlier today with Arnold’s sister, Kazia.

“When I came from Belize City, I went to pay my light bill. When I came back, my brother told me that he got shot in his hand, his left arm; the bullet penetrated through the top. He told me that he was coming through the Japan area, the Bobo Hill area and a dark skin guy started to fire shots at him and it caught him on his hand. And he was also with another friend Corey McKay and until this very moment, Corey still has not been found as yet….we are still looking for him.”

“My brother is okay, but the shooting happened around six-thirty to seven this morning.  My bredda told me to go and look for Corey cause he heard when Corey bawl out too in pain. He was shot.”

Duane Moody

“Did your brother say how many shots were fired at them?”

Kazia Arnold

“Approximately six shots.”

At around three this afternoon, McKay was found inside the bushes near the Bobo Hill area and in proximity to where the shooting occurred. According to his mother, Stephanie Perez, he was shot twice to the back and one to the leg and is currently undergoing surgery at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital.

  1. WhatGoesAroundComesAround says:

This kid is in and out of jail. I don’t know about Corey but Kareem Arnold is a known criminal burgularizing homes and being involved in murders. Even boasted in the streets of Ladyville about what he did. Not wishing bad or anything but it won’t be long until he ends up 6 feet under. If you insist on living in the fast lane then make sure you’re always strapped.
