  1. Ali BaBarrow protects his 40 says:

    Esquivels? Probably not even Belizeans.

Ticker tape parade for citizen Kim, when he gets home!
He is a Penner & Barrow— bona fide BELIZEAN.

All hail Ali and the forty!
Belizeans bought and paid for, by foreigners.
    First rate and first rank!

I respect Mr. and Mrs. Esquivel’s resignations in support of their daughter, but I do not believe their action will be seen as anything other than symbolic and will not have any impact on the current UDP political structure. In a one man system everyone is beholden to that one man, takes their cues and gives his or her allegiance to that one man and he is the current PM, not the former. The younger generations will not remember his tenure in office, and the older heads will either be completely disinterested in his daughter’s difficulty with the BTB or blame her as somehow lacking in management capabilities and deserving of removal. These are the prevalent attitudes in Belize. Not knowing the inside story of her time at BTB I cannot comment on whether she should have been pushed out or not, but I don’t think her father being a former PM should have any bearing on her administrative duties, or perception of competence (Or incompetence for that matter). If she was good at her job she should have been allowed to continue, and if not terminated. But if she was sandbagged, that is deplorable, but unfortunately entirely predictable in a country like Belize. Sad to say.

Typical udp behaviour – not even them staunch supporters no get love. Imagine poor people out here. This bunch greedy and no share nothing with nobody. At least pup used to share and always had something to give you.

I think that was extremely “Childish” for Mr. Esquivel and his wife to quit!! If their daughter was not performing productively they reserve “The RIGHT TO LET HER GO”!! Just because she is a former p.m daughter does NOT mean she is best suited for a position! It is almost as though they are throwing temper tantrum’s, again ;CHILDISH”. . And as far as the mother and father quiting I am sure their are other’s in Belize that are just as passionate about the various causes, SEEK THEM. Sometimes we forget Out with the old and in with the new. Their resignation might be a blessing, maybe new refreshed minds added to the party are in order for this party!!!
