Red Cross issues release on comments made by Roman Catholic Bishop

A letter sent out by Bishop Dorrick Wright of the Roman Catholic Church on March third, is causing a major fallout because of the Church’s conservative position. In the letter to Catholic-managed schools, the office of Bishop Wright instructs schools to decline “any and all invitations” from the Belize Family Life Association, UNIBAM, the National AIDS Commission and the Red Cross’ program called “Together We Can.” The Bishop wrote that “This agenda of sodomy, abortion, and sexual gender redefinition, is seeking to radically change Belize’s Christian character. I call on all of you to be vigilant with me against this threat to Belize’s moral foundations and family values.” The National AIDS Commission was the first to react to the Bishop’s letter.  Today, the Belize Red Cross also issued a statement. The international organization defends the TWC program saying it will to implement in schools where it is allowed. It strategy, it says, is three-fold to save lives, protect livelihoods, and strengthen recovery from disasters and crises; enable healthy and safe living; and promote social inclusion and a culture of non-violence and peace.

Maybe some day this religious group that protects child molesters in the name of Jesus might be as vociferous about protecting the government of Belize corruption. ALI NEEDS a a day of rest after all this work six days a week.

High five to US Bishops protecting their corrupt priests or have been convicted of child molesting in the last ten years. 12 dioceses, $1,000,000,000 USD in legal payouts to victims.
    Bishop Tod Brown
    Bishop Roger Mahony
    Bishop Roger Brom
    Bishop Donald Kettler
    Bishop Charles Chaput
    Bishop Francis

Plus many more around the world. Lesson: only be a homo if you are a priest, no protection otherwise, they don’t like competition.

Nothing has changed in the Curia since Pogio Bracholini’s reports that were written in the 14th century.

Nothing that a burning at the stake can’t fix.

He is right, Many of these organizations do try to push these values on to us especially UNIBAM. The other organizations also receives funding from foreign organization who also supports these values.

It is interesting that the gay organization works hand in hand with aids organization, after all it is gay men who has higher chances of having aids not lesbians or heterosexuals. Hell many employees of these HIV/AIDS organizations have gay employees working there.

I applaud Bishop Wright for his taking a stand for our moral values and standards! Enabling healthy & safe living & promoting social inclusion & a culture of non-violence & peace as stated NAC IS AND CAN BE obtained by simply abstaining and keeping oneself pure until marriage! In any event, NAC is not wrong in wanting to promote safe sex however their targeting primary schools I do not see it right. Highschool and onwards is fine since the students are already at a more mature age and will learn about the issue there!!

  4. ABelen says:

Foreign Policies are being shoved down our throats and we as a nation are so gullible. When can these organizations learn that we must respect our Belizean way do doing things!!!!
Families, and churches have a right to decided what they will permit or allow into their environment. The job of the AIDS commission is to be able to get the message out in a way that is appropriate and compliments the work those choosing not live an immoral lifestyle. They CANNOT have a blanket message or a catch all…there messages MUST be AGE, CULTURE AND BELIEF APPROPRIATE!!

  5. Orlando says:

As a born Belizean and Catholic I support Bishop Wright’s stand 101%. I also applaud the Anglican reverend that was on the Dicky Bradley Show last night on his stand against this as well. I always wondered why the top church leaders had not come out like this yet but I’m glad that they have now done so. Thanks to the good work of Pastors Wade and Scott of Plus TV too. This gay agenda HAS TO GO!! We have much more serious issues to address such as corruption and the economy!!

The Bishop’s stand is God’s hand in action!!
