The churches divided on the women’s rally

David Goff

As we said earlier, the Roman Catholic Church was first out of the protest gate when the twenty thousand strong rally was announced. A letter signed by Bishop Dorick Wright announced that the church did not endorse the rally. It went further to state that the church does not feel that the well being of women can be enhanced by advocacy which promotes the so-called pseudo rights of men and women and same sex relationships. That awakened a storm of protest by the anti-gay, anti-gender policy suspects. Today very outright opposition to the church’s position came from an unexpected source.

Reverend David Goff, Former President, Methodist Church

“That is just a smokescreen, and I think it’s unfortunate when responsible people, intelligent people, people who you would normally consider to be well-thinking, try to purport those kinds of views and promote those kinds of views. I think that’s most unfortunate. This has nothing to do with any particular agenda like homosexuality or anything like that. This is a very practical thing. God made us in his image and he made us male and female. And we must support our females, as men….the same way females must support men, and we must respect each other and affirm each other. And so to say it’s about the gender equality document or the homosexuality agenda…nothing like that. I am here because this is important and I give God thanks for every woman of this country, and every woman of this world, and every woman I have ever known. Thanks be to God.”

The letter from the Roman Catholic Church states that it cannot be persuaded to accept or promote any group which teaches or advocates any disordered sexual activity which violates the teaching and doctrine of Holy Mother Church.

While I support the declaration of the Church and Bishop Wright. I must say it is too little, and a little too late. The church must take a stand on all moral issues in the jewel not only this one but on all other issues including crime, child abuse, child labor, racial discrimination, domestic violence, sexual violence/rape, pedophilia, injustices in government and all high places individually and collectively coupled with an array of other significantly important moral issues as they relate to humanity. Currently, it appears as if the church is fighting hypocritically for it’s life. When we carefully scrutinize? What is being said and done in Rome and the World, we can justifiably say that the Church and world leadership has miserably failed all humanity. Recently, the Pope made a contradictory statement sounding as if he supports same sex marriage/union. We see and hear the same kind of statements coming from World leaders and other congregations of some churches. Some of them are even performing these services. Clearly, it appears as if evil/lies has taken over most of humanity and the church. I believe it was Longfellow ” who said a lie/evil will travel more than halfway around the earth when the truth will just be getting ready to start”. Furthermore, the role of women should not be one of competing with men, they should be complimenting men, thus working in harmony as a family to make the world a better a place. Being cognitive that we are not living in a perfect world should not mean that we don’t make effort to make it a better place. We should compete in goodness and righteousness not selfishness and foolishness.

I am glad Rev. Goff took a stand. The catholic church is hanging on the cliff of irrelevance.

IF the CATHOLIC CHURCH really thinks this is wrong; They should look back on what they are presently doing….. JUDGING… The Bible and the teachings also said that you should judge no one, yet this is what they are doing to us Women. If they do not believe in Empowering Women why the hell do they have NUNS in their church???? Oh I can Answer that….— They have NUNS because they know that their men( Priests) could never ever run such a church by themselves. THEY NEED US WOMEN AND NUNS TO ASSIST THEM IN WHATEVER THEY DO. So why treat women like this? THese NUNS even lead COMMUNION SERVICES which most of the time gets the messages out to christians more clearly than the priests themselves do. SO WHATS THE BIG DEAL BISHOP????????

  8. Concern says:

The organizers are the very exact same people who fought tooth and nail for the LGBT agenda. Even the Oaks foundation is the very same organization that sponsored that fight. LGBT Toombs said, they have already conquered Canada and the United States and they are now starting in Belize and Africa. Yes, they dropped the LGBT in 20,000 Strong, but that is not to say that it will not come up later on. A tiger cannot change its stripes! That kind of money do come with attachment.

  9. Guerra says:

If David Goff want to be gullible, its his prerogative! Doesn’t mean we will drop our guard.
