….And lashes out at Minister of Education, Patrick Faber

Ian Mariano

The Minister of Education Patrick Faber came under fire from the teachers for criticizing the industrial action, the union and them. Faber is often outspoken, and defends his comments as just plain-speaking. But he isn’t the only one capable of plain-talk, and there was plenty of that today.

Ian Mariano, Teacher, Excelsior High School

“Brother minister…or brother traitor. I want you to understand that without the teachers of this nation you would not be where you are. I want the workers who are listening to us, working in the stores…the business owners, the doctors, the lawyers and I’m glad that you guys are looking on. Without the teachers you would not be where you are. If you’re a street-cleaner, or a babysitter, or even a mother cooking somebody’s dinner…somebody had to teach you how to cook. Somebody had to teach you how to nail. Somebody had to teach you how to sew. So without the teachers you would not be where you are. So then, I want our brother traitor to understand that when he throws insults, we can just shrug them off, because as a union we understand that teachers…(crowd responds Gat Yu Back)”

George Frazer

George Frazer, Retired General-Secretary, B.N.T.U.

“We are taking one day off by the different districts, and if we have to take days and weeks off we will do it, because we have to stop this abuse. So Patrick…this is especially for you. This man has ambition to be the next Prime Minister. Patrick you need to grow up. 2005 you were with us. I was there when we went by UB. They had the gate closed off and Patrick…I don’t see how he got into the UB campus, but Patrick started to run and the Police run behind him. Patrick trip down and they hauled him by his [bleep]….the Police dem. So Patrick weh happen to you…weh happen to you?”

The next industrial action planned by the B.N.T.U. is for Friday, January twenty-fourth in San Ignacio town.

Get an education and leave Belize, it is your escape pod.

Find the smartest thief potential, get them into tha gangsta fast track so they live there short lives working for Ali.

It is not enough to have the worst education in the Caribbean, take it global to attract the worst, Mellow down.

    Power corrupts.
    Absolute power absolutely corrupts.

    Brother minister?
    Brother traitor?
Get real, get educated: brother of Ali and the other 39.

Like to see the teachers fix this mess.
But you have no backing, no power.
Just bodies filling positions, on the race to the bottom to fill the gangsta ranks.
Good luck, nobody else cares if this ship sinks.
Life rafts , booty and life vests for those few who have stolen much.
