“Umm I’m very happy with the results and I am very happy that my parents are happy because that was the main thing; making my parents proud. That’s something I am very dedicated to so it’s a very nice feeling.”

Isani Cayetano

“What was the preparation like in terms of getting yourself ready leading up to the exams?”

Marilen Guerra

“I studied and tried to minimize as much distractions. I studied very early in the mornings; so I was always sleeping from the evenings. That’s how I would studied—I studied when most people were asleep—so I had less distractions.”

Isani Cayetano

“In terms of the number of exams that you sat and the passes and the significant grades and what have you…what can you share with us about that?”

Marilen Guerra

“I sat fifteen CXCs; some were independent so I had to do extra studying by myself. I got grade ones on all the fifteen that I took.”

Isani Cayetano

“So what is next for you in terms of your academic pursuit?”

Marilen Guerra

“I’m trying just to like. I always try to do very well. Like right now, my aim is to be on Dean’s List. I always aim for the highest, so that’s my goal at the moment to be on Dean List.”

Isani Cayetano

“What would you share with other fourth formers at this point who are preparing for the exams next year?”

Marilen Guerra

“I would say to them that they should study. Most people are very…they don’t like to study and personally I’m one of them. But I force myself to study because it is just for a short while and the benefits will pay off in the future.”

Isani Cayetano

“What are some of the immediate benefits for you? I understand that you will probably either be receiving a scholarship or some other form of remuneration so to speak.”

Marilen Guerra

“I’m pretty sure that my parents will be very happy for that. I guess I don’t really know what the awards are particularly but I am guessing they will be very nice.”

Nyle Rahim Galvez, a former business student at the Our Lady of Guadalupe High School in Belmopan, will receive the Subject Group Award in Business Studies.  The award ceremony will be held at the UB Gymnasium in Belmopan on November twenty-first.
