Meanwhile, outspoken representative Raymond Rivers says that many of the correspondences being issued by the union are unofficial since they do not bear the seal of the CWU.  According to Rivers, what has happened as of late is all a political game being played by executives to retain control of the union.

The National Trade Union Congress of Belize, in its release today, again reiterated its position on the immediate expulsion of the Christian Workers Union should the congress not be held on Saturday.  Late this evening, however, a letter signed by fifteen shop stewards representing the various entities under the CWU, outlines their decision to postpone the congress to next February.  Those reasons include the need for a review of the financial situation of the union.  The congress is scheduled to take place at the Birds Isle commencing at nine.
