A flashback on how Nigerians traveled across continents to make it to the Great U.S.A.

We have been reporting on the immigration scandal for weeks. This time round, it involves the illegal issuance of a Belizean passport and nationality certificate to a fugitive, Wonhong Kim. The stench of that story had not blown away when we broke the story of the visa hustle involving another minister of state, Edmund Castro, who is accused of making big bucks for procuring visas for Chinese nationals. Human trafficking has been in our headlines for years and from the looks of it, it will not go away because quick bucks are made from persons trying to make their way to the United States. Earlier this week, we revisited stories about Sri Lankans and Somalis, tonight we pull out of our archives the case of the Nigerians. This story first aired on December first, 2010.

  1. UDP operates GOB as a stench says:

how many of those new Belizeans are al queda, drug cartel, or hit men like Mello?

UDP has made lots of money selling the country to foreign criminals.

time to start planning the permanent end of UDP.

  2. Real Talk says:

Please news 5 find something else to talk about and don’t put Nigerians in this mess. A few questions for you: 1. Is Kim Wonhong a Nigerian? 2. You think any Nigerian will pay 150,000usd to get Belizean passport? 3. Don’t you know that there’s Belize Embassy in Nigeria? 4. Can you give me the exact amount of Nigerians that come to Belize and go to the USA?.

Things to know about Nigerians and many people don’t understand it. Nigerians love to travel and we are every where in the world not just Belize. We are hard-working and not criminals. 99% of Nigerians living in Belize are working while some are going to school. In every district in Belize you’ll find devoted Nigerian nurses, doctors, teachers, security guards, taxi drivers and so on. Most come to Belize to start a new chapter but when they’re faced with heavy hatred, racism and nepotism what do you want them to do of course they have to move on by going to neighboring countries to live. I don’t why this has to be a problem for the media. Belizeans move to the USA to live permanently every year. Thousands of Belize lives in LA alone.

Whenever there’s any immigration scandal News 5 quickly use Nigerians as a scape goat for an interesting story and they keep repeating the same news for over four(4) years. From a hard working Nigerian living in Belize, married to a beautiful Belizean and contributing to the socio-economic development of this beautiful Nation I feel very sad when news five continues to air old stories about Nigerians. THIS REALLY HAS TO STOP!!!

AMERICANS, CANADIANS, CHINESE, ASIANS AND MIDDLE-EASTERN THEY ARE COME TO BELIZE TO GET THE PASSPORT AND LEAVE BUT WE NIGERIANS WE STAY HERE, DEVELOP THE NATION TOGETHER WITH OR WITHOUT PASSPORT.

IMMIGRATION OFFICERS WILL TELL YOU THIS AND BELIZEAN WOMEN MARRIED TO NIGERIANS WILL TELL YOU THIS; NIGERIANS ARE THE MOST HATED PEOPLE AT IMMIGRATION DEPARTMENTS. THEY DON’T LIKE US BECAUSE WE DON’T PAY THE BRIBE THE WANT AND OUR FILES STAYS IN THEIR OFFICE FOR YEARS. MY NATIONALITY FILE GATHERED DUST AT THE DEPARTMENT FOR 2 YEARS.

ALL A WI DAH ONE, BELIZE DA FI ME AND YOU, E NUH MATER WEH I GO, E NUH MATER WEH I LIVE, I WAH ALWAYS CUM BAK TO BELIZE AGAIN!!!

@REAL TALK: CH5 should be applauded for their Nigerian con game coverage. Truth can be very painful, and this is why my brother Dean is such a liar. He does not want to hurt our feelings.

The place we call Nigeria is one of the most corrupted country in the world, thus Nigerians are con masters. Truth is liberating. Embrace it.

why belizeans should care about chinese which go to US? give more visas to everybody. who needs it, sell more pssports! US is not a friend, and never was a friend for Belize. Make more money, dont think about US. THIS KIND OF CORRUPTION IS GOOD FOR BELIZE!
