D.P.P. says it is her duty to assist police in investigating passport scandal

The Police have been called in by the C.E.O. and the Director of Immigration. Minister Hulse has stated that there will be no holds barred. But there is some ambiguity as to the focus of the Police involvement. Will the police be looking at Elvin Penner? We likely won’t get an answer to that question from the police, but we just might get one from Director of Public Prosecutions Cheryl Lyn-Vidal. Today she confirmed for us that she has not been informed of the police involvement by any relevant party. But she maintains that, “if the police are investigating, clearly it is my duty to walk hand in hand with them.” When asked if the Office of the D.P.P. needed an invitation to do so, she stated, “NO…it is my duty.”
