Rhetorical question: will there be a criminal investigation into mess at immigration department?

Godwin Hulse

The Minister accused us of asking rhetorical questions, but we were genuinely confused at that point. The question remains – can the D.P.P. and the Police institute a criminal investigation into the mess at the Immigration Department?

Godwin Hulse, Minister of Immigration

“Let’s not get this all confused because this is going back and forth and it looks like immigration is stopping everything. All we are saying is that we are carrying out our administrative processes. When and if we find; for example, the shutdown of nationality is to see if our files are missing. If our files are indeed missing then that is something for the police because then how the hell did our files get out of the order and how did things get out there and who did it and who copied it and who is trying to cover up and that is something for the police. And we will get into the police if we find that and that is a fact.”

Reporter

“Are you all satisfied at least at this point of the investigation that Mister Wonhong Kim never entered Belize?”

Godwin Hulse

“We don’t have any evidence that he entered Belize.”

Reporter

“And you all haven’t found any document to support his nationality because what mister Saldivar was saying also is that you cannot find the police report that he would need to have done. But that would have been lodged at the police department.”

Godwin Hulse

“That is for the police, who knows if it wasn’t lodged there and somebody in the police department removed it? This could be a big thing you know and this is why we don’t want to jump ahead of ourselves. People who are concocting these things go to great lengths to make sure that every angle is covered. Remember we are on the back foot trying to trace what has happened. If you can’t find something at the police and you can’t find something at the immigration, people who concoct these things know these processes. And clearly they would initiate these processes to make sure you can’t find the evidence. That is how criminals work; as far as I know.”

Reporter

“I understand that sir, but then wouldn’t it make sense to involve the police? If they would have the documents and you don’t know if they would have it, you won’t know until you involve them.”

Godwin Hulse

“But you are asking me a rhetorical question man. Let me say yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. That’s what I’ve been saying. I’m simply saying that when we find that all these things are missing that we can’t find, the police are free to come in and we will tell them to come in. So it is a rhetorical question. We are not there yet and we are looking this morning to see our files. That is what we are doing.”

The D.P.P. has expressed interest in getting involved, even though not publicly. The Police Commissioner, on the other hand, seems determined to keep as far away from the matter as he can. When asked about the scandal recently, he claims that he doesn’t know much about what is happening because he was on leave last week.

He needs to go! So, let me and my one brain cell get this right. He is more interested in investigating how the files pointing to crookedness in his department went missing vs the fact that wanton, systemic corruption is occurring in his face? What did the Minister know and when did he know it?

These people area a horrible waste of time. So how long will you take to find out if the files are missing if that is indeed what you are ‘WAITING’ for. Gush! While you are ‘supposedly’ waiting, evidence more than likely are being destroyed. Dragging their feet on purpose!

When the police finally gets the nod to come in after they have destroyed all the evidence that they cannot find(yeah, its confusing to me too)then PUP better circle the wagons around Minister Sal, because the police will come to arrest him for having in his possession, documents that were “stolen” from the National Branch. So he will be under investigation as to how he recieved these and for handling stolen property. I wonder if he will be beaten up some where up the road until he talks as we all know thats the only way the police knows how to extract confessions? Oh, and don’t believe them Sal, if they promise to release you if you give them a gun.

: ) You have to ask this simple….. Yes or No question very very slow, so Hulse could understand.

At least that is what he would want us to believe. He was the loudest mouth during the Musa years, and suddenly, cat gone with the man tongue. What he wanted to say, but can’t put in words is; ” I HAVE TO ASK FATHER” The man was afraid, if he had said yes, the pretty ride, salary, and the word Honorable before his name would have been taken away. You guys are behaving real bad, PUTTING THE MAN ON THE SPOT LIKE THAT! : )

For your information, the police can and will only be called to investigate, if the files were stolen, because if the files are out of order, and how it got out of order, and how did things get out there and who did it and who copied it and who is trying to cover up and that is something for the police. That is a truly humongous crime for the police to solve. : ) That is an even bigger reason than the whole Immigration and Nationality scandal put together, no matter how we look at it. : )

Hold it…. hold it; and who is trying to cover up??? The man was rambling because the words, and who is trying to cover up, falls square in his lap. Have ANYONE HEARD OF ANY PERSONS, GROUP, OR EVEN THE POLICE HAVING been called to investigate the Immigration scandal, but… they haven’t showed up! I guess not! Does the word cover up come to mind? Just asking?

  6. Patriot says:

Godwin Hulse allegiance should be to Belize not to his political party. Interestingly he has become incompetent in his job in his ministry. His actions and words show that his concerns are directed to the documents that Saldivar professes to have; Penner’s wrong doing is Ok for Hulse. Hulse should resign immediately to give way for a better and efficient investigation. The task he is undertaking is to ensure that no evidence be found against Penner, thus against the UDP.
The police will not get into involve in investigating if they are not given the directives from the Minister of police. When there are political appointees, it is difficult to get fairness and justice.

  7. Belize land of the free says:

Asians like Central Americans come to Belize to steal the wealth of our home.
The Politicians both PUP and UDP sell our nations identity. What PM need to do is to ask the minister to step down in best interest. If UDP investigate its own they will cover it. It needs an independent body to investigate and clear this scandal.
A very big shame on our Nations identity, we are worth nothing, this is what PM wants, I hope not!!!!
Belize if full of international Criminals, supported by PUP and UDP. Time to stop selling our Passports PM.
