Police Constable once again free on bail…this time for damage to property

It’s the second time that he has been criminally charged since he was placed on interdiction and tonight Police Constable, Edward Castillo is once again free on bail. Castillo, a thirty-three year old resident of Hattieville was arraigned this morning in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court for a single count of Damage to Property. It is alleged that on August twenty-eighth, Castillo damaged a passport, a credit union book, a social security card, a car tire and the front and rear windshield of a car; all the property of Alex Norberto. But when he appeared before Senior Magistrate Sharon Frazer, Castillo pleaded not guilty to charge and was offered a three thousand dollars bail plus one surety of the same amount. He is due back in court on November twelfth. Castillo has been on interdiction since January second when he was charged with three criminal offenses; Obstructing Assistant Superintendent Anthony Rosado in the execution of his duties, Endeavoring to Prevent Execution of the Law when he released a prisoner from lawful custody, as well as, Using a Motor Vehicle not covered by Third Party Risk Insurance. That case is still pending.
