Luke Espat trains political eye on Cayo

Luke Espat

Businessman Luke Espat, largely recognized for his controversial roles in an unsuccessful projects such as the failed cruise tourism project at the port, has announced his intention to run on the P.U.P. ticket in Cayo Central. Not surprisingly, that announcement has met with mixed reviews. Party Leader Francis Fonseca told News Five on Monday that while it is open season where conventions are concerned, nobody on the executive has actually endorsed Espat. That statement seemed to suggest that Espat’s entry into politics is not exactly welcome, but today he told us that it is quite the opposite. He says that he has been greeted with open arms by many including Cayo Central political powerhouse, Dan Silva.

Luke Espat, Political Aspirant, Cayo Central

“Some people in Cayo told me they are tired of begging Dan Silva. Every time he takes them to the tape and they have to keep begging him to run and every time he keeps changing his mind and changing the goal post. I respect Dan Silva as a P.U.P. member, I now he is a serious contender. And as such I had meetings with Dan Silva and I asked him personally if he can give me his commitment, either he is running or he is not running. He told me quite clear, I am not going to contest the election and he told me Luke if you are interested, are you serious, are you committed to getting the work of the people done then I am going to support you. In the same process, it is not only Dan Silva, I spoke with our leader of our party that told me there are seventeen constituence go and get the work done of the people. I have spoken with the chairman of this party, who went to my launching and who gave me a very great recommendation of why I could be the candidate and should be the candidate for Cayo Central. All four representative of the southern caucus, Mike Espat my brother, Mr. Requeña who is here with us today, the representative Ferguson, all of them told me quite clearly. Luke join us lets get into the race. I spoke with Mr. Mahmud who is our representative in San Igancio, he told me Luke you are a welcome sight you will bring some energy to this area and some positive changes. I also consulted our former Prime Minister, Said Musa! He told me Luke, you have all the credentials necessary. You have served this party throughout its most difficult periods, you have never abandoned this ship, you have worked hard, you have always been called to your tasks and you have performed. You are prepared to serve the people now please go ahead, you have my support.”

Luke Espat is a Midas. Luke Espat has that golden touch. Everything that Luke Espat touches turns into a nightmare, a failed business. Luke Espat is the Midas of disaster.

    This time? No difference.

Come on PUP, just when I thought you were coming out of the dirt this v@@@@@e turns up in your line up. How could you encourage this? Montejo; some of us out here believe that you could have made a difference. Do not forget what this man has selfishly put Belize in. His selfish action is in large part responsible for the super bond and our taxes being use in litigations. He had great influence on the PUP in the past and will do so again if permitted to.

What does Luke think, that people will believe in the promises he is making. Only if people are blind will they see that politics is just a game and a ploy to get rich or recover from past hurts in his investments. Of course he has his eyes on Cayo, the biggest District, maybe more $$$.

PUP! its about time that a great PUP come out from the background and steps up to the plate.
A great man is Luke Espat who has helped this country countless of times with great investments. But the UDP pirates have robbed him down because of greed.

Luke has created thousand of jobs invested his money and paid out his debts to the bank. UDP conspracy has damaged this great man impecabble reputation.

Without Luke the PUP would havnet been nothing and im glad he has finally comes to lead. Congrats to a great man who is doing a great job in this country. An honest and selfless man…go luke! PUP always!
