Handyman steals a hundred dollars

A handyman from the Ladyville area who claims he relocated from Dangriga to the City in search of a job is in trouble with the law for allegedly stealing from the person who hired him.  Dalton Longsworth is accused of stealing a hundred dollar bill from Royann Riverol, who hired him to do some repairs at her house in Belize City. On Wednesday, Riverol left her hand bag on a table with the hundred dollar note and she proceeded to do chores. She soon found out that the money was missing. Longsworth denied that he had taken the cash, but today he was arraigned on a single charge of Theft in the court of Magistrate Dale Cayetano.  In a remorseful manner, Longsworth asked the court for leniency saying he will pay back the money.  The first time offender was spared from going to jail, but the fine for stealing the hundred dollar bill will cost him six times what he stole…that’s a hefty six hundred dollar fine. Since he has nothing outstanding for the court, Longsworth was free to go this evening, but will have to pay fine by November or face a one year prison term.
