YOA Orchestra of the Americas coming to Belize

If you’re an aficionado of classical music or even just like it a lot, you’ve probably heard of the YOA Orchestra of the Americas. The world class two hundred member symphony orchestra guided by artistic advisor Placido Domingo is on the final leg of a Central American Connection Tour, and its final stop is here in Belize at the Memorial Park. The National Institute of Culture and History is sending out an open invitation to Belizeans to come out and enjoy the musical opportunity of a lifetime featuring the world famous orchestra and a few of our local stars.

“This weekend, we are having a once in a lifetime opportunity for Belizeans to come out and experience an orchestra like no other. This weekend, on Sunday at the memorial park, we are having the YOA, Youth Orchestra of the Americas, making their stop in Belize. This is their final stop on their Central American tour. This orchestra is a huge symphonic orchestra. It has members from twenty different nations, over two hundred members strong. So this is a concert that you will probably never get an opportunity to see again in Belize. Also in attendance will be, for the first time on stage, the national youth choir of Belize who have been practicing and they have their thing up for this Sunday. And also the national youth orchestra from Belize.  I also want to mention that a Belizean, one of our most skill violinists, Courtney Gillett, has been accompanying the YOA Orchestra of the Americas during their tour in Central America. So she will be performing with them on stage here in Belize at the Memorial Park on Sunday and definitely we are elated at the thought of having somebody in the orchestra and we are of course more than overjoyed to welcome her home. So a lot of people will be out there to see Courtney on stage. But we want to invite everybody to come out Sunday night, seven p.m. at the memorial park. We are catering for thousands of Belize because we think that people will take the opportunity to come out and enjoy what we have to offer.”

The concert in Belize will be the fifteenth and last of the Central American Connection tour.
