Rawell Pelayo charged with importing and conspiring to import cocaine

Football Federation of Belize Vice President Rawell Pelayo never made it to the Gold Cup 2013 games that the Jaguars played earlier in the month.  On July eighth, Pelayo and other members of the F.F.B. including a football player had taken a flight to Houston, Texas. Pelayo was arrested by Drug Enforcement Agency agents and taken to a detention Center in Houston. He was eventually transported to the Southern District of New York where charges were awaiting him. There was some public discussion about the length of time it took for Pelayo to receive a U.S. visa. However, the court documents from the United States District Court show that the charges against him were filed on April twelfth, 2012…over a year before he decided to travel with the football team. The charges involved a small quantity of drugs already shipped to the United States and also for planning future shipments. Count one of the Grand Jury charges says from October 2010 up to May 2011, Pelayo also known as Berto, along with (Quote) “others known and unknown intentionally and knowingly did combine, conspire, confederate, and agree together and with each other to violate the narcotics laws of the United States.” (Unquote) The court document states that they did import a controlled substance into the U.S. amounting to five kilos containing cocaine.  Sources tell News Five that a trace had been placed on Pelayo for some time. Another alleged incident occurred on December thirtieth, 2010 for which Pelayo is also accused of participating in a plan with others to send a quantity of cocaine to New York.  News Five will continue to follow the charges against Pelayo as they develop.

How stupid can stupid get? Why would Bertie travel knowing that the DEA boys were waiting for him?

Hint, hint….. Why getting a U.S. visa take so long? That should have been a sign of danger. Something’s wrong. I know what I did. Back off. Forget traveling. What a simple Simon.

Americans love the white powder. It is their addiction. Bertie Boy simply provided the powder. But please, be smart about it. The Gringos outwitted another Belizean. Darn.

Good luck Bertie Boy because you won’t be touching the green grass of home for a very long, long time.

No sympathy from me! When you will engage in illegal activities you need to be very intellegent, but then if you have that much intellegence then why not use it to make money legally?

Raul Pelayo has been a player in the drug game since 1990. He currently owns Lamanai a resort by the water in OW. He has been arrested in Belize with large quantities of Cocaine, but his friend(Errol Cadle) also known as Dr. Bat took the blame and did jail time for him. Dr Bat was given a house along with a boat by Pelayo as payment. Dr. Bat now owns Eco-Tours.
The DEA has been interested in Pelayo since 1993, and has always wanted him to come to U.S. soil so he can be charged, but he never tried to come. I can not believe he was so stupid to think that time will erase his history in the U.S.
The DEA will not forget!!!! So any of you who have been in the game, even if you are dormant. Some people are waiting for you with all the patience in the world.

    What is a Grand Jury?
Under New York State law, unless the defendant consents, all felony cases must be presented to the Grand Jury. Grand Juries are empowered to hear evidence presented by prosecutors, and to take various actions regarding the evidence and legal charges they are to consider. The Grand Jury can also conduct independent investigations. Grand Juries sit for a term of approximately one month. Each Grand Jury is comprised of 23 citizens who hear and examine evidence concerning offenses and take action based on such evidence.
