BWS donates to Team Belize

F.F.B. President Ruperto Vicente has confirmed that he will likely not be going to the Gold Cup with the Jaguars because the team has not been able to raise the funds it anticipated. The money has been trickling in slowly, too slowly to provide much comfort, but today Belize Water Services did their part for the effort by donating three thousand dollars in addition to five hundred previously donated. The check was handed over to Vicente this morning at a brief press conference in Belize City.

“We felt that we needed to give more support for the team so it was decided that we were going to give three thousand dollars additionally for a total of three thousand five hundred dollars. And we’re very proud to be able to give this donation given that the company has been having some financial constraints due to a rate reduction. But we are still very proud to be supporting the national team because we are very proud and we are a hundred percent behind you guys.”

“Thank you very much for this contribution that will go a long way in taking care of our football players who deserve the best since they are going to be representing us in this tournament. This is a historic moment for is. It’s the first time that we are going this far in football. A lot of nations are looking at us and are considering us a non-entity. But we want to prove to the world that we deserve the respect and that we’re here and we’re going to be participating not just to participate but to win as well. So we’re going in to win because winning is our objective.”

And as we said, all Belizeans are being invited to the P.G.I.A. at nine a.m. Friday for an opportunity to wish Team Belize well.
