Meet Israeli Ambassador to Belize, Shmulik Bass

Shmulik Bass

The Israeli Ambassador to Belize, Shmulik Bass, is in the jewel and he is bearing gifts. Since Monday, a five-day workshop, “Business Labs Focused on Cultural Enterprises,” has been ongoing at the University of Belize Campus in Belize City. The on the spot course is sponsored through the Israel’s Agency for International Development Cooperation and the Young Americas Business Trust (YABT). But while that ends on Friday, Ambassador Bass came to News Five’s studios and spoke of a drip irrigation kit that is being donated to the Ministry of Agriculture. Ambassador Bass explains that while Israel may not be able to assist the country financially, they will provide the tools and knowledge to develop certain sectors in Belize.

Shmulik Bass, Ambassador of Israel to Belize

“I came here, my seventh visit to Belize in one year and a half—I think it is a record—and the reasons for this visit are two. The first is an on the spot course we conduct together with YABT international American organization with its branch here. And with the corporation of the university of Belize in Belize City about business laboratories. Our contribution is two experts of high level in Israel, who left their work and families, and came to be here for a whole week. And we arranged that and subsidized that from our part. The second reason is that I brought with me a donation to Belize and that is a drip kit. I believe that the world theme of drip irrigation is well known; that Israel has developed since the sixties of the last century. Not only the drip irrigation, but also the fertilizers from the Dead Sea. So here we have a kit for land of five hundred square meters; that’s a family use area, very small, but very intensive agriculture. It combines the drip irrigation system, the fertilizer for that system and advance seeds to grow and that is an investment but it yields much more production than the usual. And I would like to show that to Belize with the help of course of the Ministry of Agriculture how Israel does it; why Israel is famous for exporting fruit, vegetables, flowers although more than sixty percent of our land is arid, is desert.  Israel is offering knowledge, know how; not financial assistance because we also face the international economical crisis and we are accepting immigration from Ethiopia, from Russia and from other places. And we face a lot of financial problems, but it doesn’t mean that we don’t want to share the know-how the knowledge.”

Ambassador Bass says that they are in the process of finalizing plans for Israeli experts to come to Belize to implement the irrigation kit. Bass departs the country on Saturday.

I fear the Jew and the Zionist although he brings gifts. Belize must not side with the Jews against the Palestinian Arabs. This is what the illegal state of Israel is good at- to create dissension in poor countries by offering material goods for their support against their inhumane and criminal treatment of Palestinian women and children in their jails. The Jews were the main instigators of the secession of Southern Sudan from Sudan because they want the oil source in Southern Sudan even though they have racist policies against black Africans as evident by their clandestine deportation of thousand of Blacks from Israel just last month. So black Belizeans , don’t be fooled by the Jews and sell your lives for a handful of pyrite.

I’m with Belizean on this one, I admire Israel, the only democracy in its region. And they have shown they have the know-how to convert a desert into a productive oasis.

Even religiously, for us Christians, our faith is founded on the same basic law and belief in a Messiah. We just know He has already arrived, while Israel still waits. And the Bible says the Second Coming of Christ will be preceded by the return of Jews to Israel [done in 1948] and rebuilding the Temple — yet to come. Christ was even called Rabbi before He was crucified.

So, thanks to the Israelis for this sharing of knowledge. I hope some of our people absorb it and use it to prosper.

I admire @Storm giving a bit of an overview of where Israel is in their standing. It is very accurate, and serves also as a reminder for us as Christians where our standing is, relating to Christs’ 2nd coming…It does depend on us greatly
